COVID-19 Update:

As was recently announced on March 23, 2020, as a precautionary measure, the Province of Ontario recently ordered all non-essential workplaces to temporarily shutdown in order to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 (the novel coronavirus - SARS-CoV-2).

This means that SD Canada's office and warehouse in Toronto was mandated to close as a workplace for the duration of this order, although we are still working from home. For the time being, all customer pick-ups and showroom visits are cancelled as our physical office is closed.

Here's the Great News:

1. Doll Factories Back To Normal

Not only have factories in China gone back to normal, but they have dramatically increased sanitary procedures to ensure that COVID-19 does not contact ANY customer orders. See our YouTube channel to watch how orders are being treated by Irontech Doll, as an example!

 

2. SD Canada Customer Service in Full Operation

Our customer service team is currently working regular business hours to answer e-mails, process orders, receive your phone calls and live chats, and otherwise carry on with business and take orders.

 

3. Standard Shipping and In-Stock Product Expected to Resume Shipping from Toronto on 3/30

We are pleased to announce that we are currently finalizing details with a local third-party logistics company to continue shipping orders, and shipping In-Stock products! All Canpar and Purolator shipments will be converted to UPS Ground (at no additional charge) during this time. This should be finalized within a matter of a few business days.

Note that companies who fulfill logistical needs have continued to operate as per Section 17 of the List of Essential Workplaces:

"Businesses and facilities that provide transportation services to businesses and individuals including by air, water, road, and rail including providing logistical support, distribution services, warehousing and storage, including truck stops and tow operators"

Please note that our third-party logistics company will NOT be able to perform any detailed QC inspections on orders during this time. If you still want SD Canada to verify your order ourselves before shipping, please write to us and we will keep your order on hold until our office re-opens when the order to close non-essential workplaces in Ontario is lifted.

As we finalize this process, and comply with the government order to keep our workplace closed, we ask you to stay vigilant knowing that your orders will continue to be processed without much additional delay, and In-Stock products will be continue to be made available!

Moreover, as it is anticipated that the shutdown of non-essential services could potentially be extended, with this temporary switch to third-party logistics we will be in a position to continue operating seamlessly for as long as it takes to stabilize the current COVID-19 situation.

 

 

What does this mean for new Custom Doll orders?

You still have the choice to choose between Standard Shipping (where our third-party logistics company will ship to you), or Dropship / Expedited Shipping (where the doll ships directly to you from China). What does this mean for Custom Doll orders already in progress?

As our facility already permits automated entry for couriers and is a 24/7 monitored facility, we continue to regularly receive parcels at our warehouse, and they are being safely stored. Nothing will be returned back to the depot. Your orders will continue to be received by SD Canada and stored in our temperature-controlled warehouse.

 

What if my Custom Doll order was made with Standard Shipping and I want to switch to Dropship / Expedited?

If you have not yet received or reviewed your factory photos, and would like to make this switch to receive the doll directly from the supplier in China, please write to us and let us know. Any extra items ordered from SD Canada where inventory is held in Toronto will be shipped separately by our third-party logistics company.

 

What if I selected "Pick-Up from SD Canada in Toronto" as my Shipping Option?

We ask any customers who have requested an in person pick-up from our Toronto location to select a secondary location (such as a UPS Store), and write to us so we can update your order notes. If our office remains closed when your order is ready, we will ship to the secondary location you have selected.
